The Challenge:
Oakley is a dominant name brand in the surf space and sought to expand its product portfolio from sandals into adjacent categories. We researched gaps in the market and sought ways to serve those needs. 
Research showed that low profile casual footwear such as Vans were popular among the beach community. But they were not built for sand and water.  Oakley saw an opportunity to expand its presence in the surf category by addressing this gap in the market. This line of beach ready footwear was designed to be water friendly, lightweight and durable. It's molded EVA collar and insole gave the shoe the water resistance and flexibility it needed while it's de-coupled outsole and blow molded EVA helped it to shed unnecessary weight.
